Our last HGTW was in April, four months ago, how quickly time flies. It’s time to connect with you all and give you dates for the next conference. October 21-25, 2015 at Lazy Mountain. (See online application form at www.heartsgtwellness.org If you don’t have access to the internet to download, give us a call and we will get you one.) Please begin praying and ask God to show you who you could invite and if you should come again. Hopefully this new letter will become a more consistent letter. We know how much we need encouragement as the days and weeks go by and even months. God’s constant love and grace is extended to us on a daily basis. Life has so many ups and downs that we need to know where to look for direction and peace along the way. This verse in Acts 20:32 is one we can receive encouragement: “So now, brothers and sisters, we commend you to God and the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
We are excited to announce that Alaska Freedom Journey (AFJ) has a new administrator, Jennifer McBride. Many of you will know her as she has attended a couple of our HGTW conferences. She will be helping Alan and Linda with a number of things for HGTW. One is developing a data base for all our current and former HGTW participants. This will help us be more consistent in getting out newsletters, something we have wanted to do for a long time. We just never had the time or expertise to do it. AFJ has a web site www.alaskafreedomjourney.org for online information, and financial giving. HGTW is also linked to this site. Our web site hasn’t seen too much action, but with Jennifer’s help, we hope to see it further developed, giving you opportunities to log on and find dates and news of upcoming events. There are also photos of “previous events”. Thank you Jennifer.
Here are a few quotes from some of our conferences:
“HGTW is a conference that truly changed my life. I believe that just the actual validation of: I am not alone, others have also been held prisoner by past abuse and trauma. Being able to give voice to my pain and not have it to carry alone, helped me to start my healing journey. The gospel is used to show how much Jesus loves us and offers us healing. My life is literally set on a brighter, lighter path. I am a new person who now has a purpose and that is to share what this conference has helped me see and experience. All glory and belongs to our Savior and Lord. And to all the people who work in the conference, all the presenters and group leaders who share their stories blessings, thank you all.”
“I have grown so much and learned so much. I feel relieved, heard, accepted, safe, loved, and understood. I learned my need for a deeper forgiveness.”
“I shared my story of loss and loss of my childhood. Now I am more conscious of how I present myself and am getting to the core of my problems.”
“I was able to listen to the stories of broken hearts and saw them being put back together only through God.”
Please feel free to contact Alan or Linda for any questions you may have about the conference. We will be waiting to hear from you.
Resting in His grace and love,
Alan & Linda Ross
